The threshold of the woods, and the perfume that lives there

The house began with a question a perfumer could not answer: what does the moment before rain actually smell like? A short story about an interval.

The threshold of the woods, and the perfume that lives there

Shahi Aroma began with a question a perfumer could not answer: what does the moment before rain actually smell like? Not the rain — the held breath before it.

To find it, she went to the edge of the woods, where the light thins and the air changes its mind. Resin warming on bark. Cool soil. A single green note holding an entire afternoon.

Bottling the in-between

Every composition since has chased that interval — the threshold where one thing is becoming another. It is why our scents are built from a small number of ingredients, sourced at origin, and judged only after they have had time to settle.

We do not make perfume, exactly. We bottle the in-between, and we hope that when you wear it, you are returned to a doorway you did not know you remembered.
